Invest in Renewables:

Lacon acquires a majority stake in Querom.

Querom Elektronik GmbH was founded in 2017 in Geisenhausen, Lower Bavaria, and specialises in the development and implementation of customised power electronics projects with a focus on DC-DC converters.
High-voltage DC/DC converters are key components in many growth markets. This is because the energy coming from regenerative energy sources is usually available as direct current. The uneven distribution of this large amount of electrical power over time - and the associated need to store it - has become an innovation driver for systems and components.
While the existing infrastructure is characterised by the central generation of alternating current and its distribution, intermediate storage of the direct current - for example in batteries or through the electrolysis of water - can significantly increase the efficiency of the overall system: the energy-guzzling conversion of direct current to alternating current and back is no longer necessary.
For this purpose, high-voltage DC/DC converters are the necessary interface between the decentralised individual systems for energy generation and storage and function equally as power transmitters, control, regulation and diagnostic tools.

Lacon-CEO Dr. Ralf Hasler says about the takeover:
"With Querom, we have the ticket for technologically advanced DC-DC applications for electrolysers, supercaps, PV charging equipment and other demanding applications in the field of innovative DC technology!".
