As a distributor for electromechanical components and an EMS provider, a steady stream of parcels leaves Lacon's primary warehouse in Karlsfeld (Munich) every day.
To ensure we keep meeting the targets from Lacon's environmental policy, most of this parcel business is now being handled by the GoGreen parcel service from our partner Deutsche Post DHL. This affects both outgoing parcels and incoming parcels that are sent using the Lacon customer number.
With the GoGreen programme, Deutsche Post DHL is giving its customers the chance to take part in climate protection projects.
By purchasing GoGreen products, Lacon supports international climate protection programmes that are designed to compensate for the CO2 emissions caused by the transportation of Lacon's parcels.
"GoGreen is just one of a number of Green Supply Chain strategies, such as returnable packaging, shipment consolidation, dynamic route planning, order management optimisation and the expansion of the regional carrier network," comments Lacon Supply Chain Manager Afrem Alfia. "To document our contribution, DHL now provides us with an annual record of our greenhouse gas emissions, as well as a certificate of the volume of CO2 emissions that has been compensated for by the GoGreen projects."
DHL re-invests its GoGreen in a range of projects covering the topics of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and (re-)forestation in a number of regions around the world.
