Lacon is BAYERNS BEST 50

The positive sales and employee developments of recent years motivated the Lacon Group management to participate in the “BAYERNS BEST 50” competition with other SMEs in Bavaria, to find “Bavaria’s best 50”. The award is made each year to the 50 companies that stand out due to their above-average growth rate and economic development. The EMS service provider was selected as one of the 50 prizewinners on its first attempt and on 23 July 2018 accepted its BAYERNS BEST 50 award from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology (Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Energie und Technologie) in Schloss Schleißheim. As entrepreneurial models, all winners proved to have the right intuition for changes in the market and actively used welcome opportunities for employment and growth. Lacon has participated proactively for years in the development of skilled workers, apprentices and young managers in Bavaria. As an expert for customised development and production services in electronics & electromechanics, continuous vocational and professional development and interest in modern technologies and adapted industrial solutions are vital for the success of the company. Lacon has provided fresh wind and innovative approaches for years with consistent increase in its personnel level: The number of employees has increased by 65% since 2010, and is currently around 550 at the company’s headquarters in Karlsfeld and the additional production location in Romania. Thanks to regular investments in skilled personnel and thus in know-how and improved corporate strategies, the product realiser has managed to almost double its sales figures over the past five years to almost 60 mln Euro at the present. Therefore, just like its fellow award-winners, it contributes to high economic growth and as a result to prosperity in Bavaria, and thanks to the award that’s now official! Which 50 SMEs were recognised publicly for the economic and social importance at the prize giving on 23 July was determined in advance using the objective criteria of the auditors and tax consultants PSP Peters Schönberger GmbH as an independent juror. The BAYERNS BEST 50 prize is a subject very close to the heart of Bavaria’s State Minister of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology, Mr Franz Josef Pschierer, as a vehicle for drawing attention to the SMEs highly influenced by the modern working world and to honour their nonetheless consistently implemented entrepreneurship. The challenges faced by SMEs thanks to demographic and digital change and the associated increased requirements for personnel procurement and innovation are often overlooked. And the important contribution they make to the high standard of living in Bavaria through their active sense of responsibility and successful skilled employee development.
