Arising from a Christmas donations campaign (not sending traditional Christmas cards in 2017), which is intended to do good and harmonise nature and electronics, the CEO of the Lacon Group, Dr Ralf Hasler, had the unusual idea of further developing the existing “Generations forest” at the waterworks, together with the Karlsfeld municipality and the middle school in the town. As a special highlight, at the press conference on 27.04.2018, in addition to shrubs and small trees, a young oak was also planted by students, the Mayor, Mr Kolbe, and Dr Hasler. This should naturally grow into an impressive tree, the "Karlsfelder Oak of the century”. For years, Dr Hasler has observed with concern the increased felling of (in his opinion too) many trees on the lakeside and along the Würm canal in Karlsfeld. With this planting campaign he now wants to set a sustained "pro nature" sign! A web cam provided by Lacon records the growth of the “oak of the century” and transmits an image to the Lacon website(currently just available in German, the English translation are going to follow promptly) two hours between 08:00 and 16:00. It is planned to show a fast-motion recording of the whole year’s growth at the end of each year. In addition, the development and production of the online link of a weather station to the Lacon website and the installation of the weather station near the oak was also an especial pleasure for the EMS provider and product realiser and was an ideal opportunity to also make a technical contribution to the “nature project”. The up-to-date weather, including humidity and wind speed, is thus also displayed continuously next to the web cam images on the Lacon website. A history of the last 14 days and a forecast of the Karlsfeld weather are also on view.
