Dr Ralf Hasler, CEO of the Lacon Group had an idea: Instead of the usual Christmas cards to business partners and friends, he wanted to set a “pro nature” example.
The idea was understandably to make a tree donation in the municipal area of the local Lacon location. In the municipality administration his idea was met with keen interest and open ears. For many years, the municipality of Karlsfeld, not especially known for its wealth of forests, has repeatedly initiated tree planting with Karlsfeld schools, which are intended to correct this anomaly. Thus, in cooperation with the forestry commission, in recent years a forest nature trail (2005) and a multigeneration forest (2008) have been created near the Karlsfeld waterworks. Further planting is now to take place together with students of the Mittelschule Karlsfeld school. But Lacon wanted even more: As a leading company in the high-tech industry, this know-how should also be incorporated into the project. Together with students and teachers of the Mittelschule Karlsfeld school, a sustainable project will now be started, which is also intended to be an example and incentive for other companies to follow. This will be started in the spring of 2018 with a tree and shrub planting campaign on Feldmochinger Weg. But the persons responsible did not want to reveal more yet. As starting capital, Dr Ralf Hasler handed over a cheque for € 2,500 € to the Mayor Stefan Kolbe at the Lacon headquarters in the Karlsfeld business park.
