Modern electric motors are now used in many applications and have greatly simplified our everyday lives. High-performance models rapidly reach critical temperatures near stator coils, however. Here, connection cables with integrated temperature sensors can handle monitoring tasks.
Currently, the widely prevalent KTY-83 and KTY-84 sensors are affected by the manufacturer’s discontinuation announcement and can typically be replaced by PTC-600 and PTC-1000 products. The sensors can be easily handled by our modern cable assembly lines. When combined with hot-melt encapsulation and ultrasonic compaction, smart and cost-effective solutions are possible.
